SoCo Rescue found this little fellow stuck in an animal control facility, facing euthanasia. Fear had led Dewey to be a little aggressive while at the shelter. Once at SoCo Rescue, however, Dewey quickly realized that he was among friends and has shown no aggression.

Dewey is a little fellow, weighing only 5 lbs. We estimate him to be about two years old. He has been fully vetted, including being neutered,  micro-chipped and given a canine influenza vaccine.

Dewey gets along great with other dogs of all sizes and enjoys play time. He tries to come across as fearless, not caring that he is so small, but will run to "daddy" if he gets into a jam. He loves his human contact and is a very devoted  and attentive dog.

Dewey has done very well with his house training but does have full time access to a outside fenced area. If his new home does not have full time access to the outdoors, then a little more house training may be required.

Dewey would do best in a home without young children as he is so small. If a small child were to pull on Dewey's ear or tail or somehow  cause him to become fearful of them, then Dewey may revert back to being defensive. Idealily, a home with a retired or senior person would be best for Dewey.
