Description:
Dixie came to us from a family that was moving and could not take her along. I met this family a year ago when they were giving away Dixie's pups, which we took in the last puppy. That puppy was adopted and has proven to be very smart, a trait she must have inherited from her mother, Dixie. We do have to refer to he as "Big" Dixie since we already have another dog named Dixie. Big Dixie loves the water, playing toss and fetch and knows some basic commands. Dixie is very well house and crate trained. She will be spayed before her adoption and is up to date on her vaccines. She has also received her Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine and has been on a monthly heart worm preventative. Dixie is also heart worm free. Despite her size, weighing in around 75 lbs, Dixie is very gentle and gets around the inside of a home with ease and grace. She is kid friendly and gets along very well with other dogs. Dixie has no aggression at all, but will stand her ground if a stranger comes around, in an effort to protect her loved ones. Dixie does not belong in a rescue, but rather in a home where she can give, as well as receive, much love. Dixie does need a large fenced area to run and play.
