A local family started noticing a stray female dog had began to show signs of being pregnant, so they took her under their care so that she'd have a safe place to deliver her litter. The pregnant dog was very sweet and receptive to their kindness. Shortly after the mom delivered her litter, she apparently got into a fight with some other animal, evident by the bite marks, that left her with a fractured leg. Not only did this family continue to care for mom and pups, they also covered the cost of having the mom's leg examined and treated by a vet and have offered to keep her for now. Their dedication to helping this mom and pups only increased our desire to help find the pups a home. 

The name Hester, in Ancient Greek language, means Star. And once you meet our Hester, you'll know why we named her after a "heavenly constellation. With the near-perfect mix of playfulness, affection and calmness, she'll make a great addition into just about any home. 

Hester has now received 2/3 of her first-year puppy vaccines, her Bordetella and rabies vaccinations as well as scheduled de-wormings and preventative care including being started on her flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Her adopter will have to agree to having Hester spayed once she turns 6 months of age and providing SoCo with verification of such. Hester will require all of her basic training.
