She is now in a loving Foster home near Flemington, NJ.
Kira(now Lucy) was adopted 5 months ago & to no fault of her own is looking for a new forever home. The family had a family emergency and now feels like the don’t have enough time for Lucy. If interested , please fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com (no phone calls please). Lucy is housetrained, crate trained and is very loving. She is still a puppy so has a bunch of energy but with a couple of walks a day, she should be fine. She has been with other dogs and did great but a meet & greet is recommended. Her rescue story….
Dublin, GA woman contacted SoCo Rescue seeking help in placing a litter of pups that a stray female dog had at her house. This was the second litter from this stray dog, but due to the overwhelming problem that all rescues/shelters in the south are currently facing, including SoCo Rescue, no one was able to assist with the first litter. Eventually the woman found help in placing all but one of the first litter and that pup, along with the mom, are still at the home. Thanks to a grant provided by Fix GA. Pets, we are now able to have the mom and older pup spay. The woman is going to offer at least a temporary home, if not permanent, to both of the dogs.
While the mom appears to be Lab mix, we're not positive who the dad was or his breed. What we do know is that, thanks to the woman and her daughter. this litter has been well socialized towards people. They love to play and re very affectionate, loving to snuggle up to people. Of course the pups will require all of their basic training.
While we have provided the pups with their initial "puppy" care, they will require additional vaccinations and de-wormings. A SoCo Rescue team member will discuss the recommended schedule of when those required vaccinations and such should be obtained. The adopter has to agree on having their puppy spay or neutered by the time it reaches 6 months of age and provide verification of such to our rescue.
