Description:
Meet Deacon, a very lovable, friendly big fella! He is a Dogue de Bordeaux, just like the dog in the movie "Turner and Hooch". He is just as lovable as the dog in the movie, but does not slobber like his Hollywood counterpart. Deacon was picked up by the local animal control near Dublin, Ga. Attempts to locate his previous owner came up empty. Deacon has no aggression to him at all, and rarely even barks. He loves to run and play with both humans and dogs alike, but he prefers smaller dogs to those as big or bigger than him. Although, he has made friends here with some of our larger dogs, so it may take a meeting between any existing dog you may have to see if there will be a friendship or not. He also walks on a leash very well and enjoys car rides. He has been neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, including rabies, and has some house and crate training, although a refresher course may be needed as he's been housed outdoors for the last few months. Any potential adopters should know that they will undergo an extensive approval process, to assure that this fella does get the best home possible. A home visit will be a definite requirement, as well as being able to verify all information attached to any application. Deacon would be welcomed to live here forever, so it will take a very good home for him to be adopted. While all this may sound like a lot to go through for this dog, I'm sure the rewards will be well worth the process Contact Scott at socorescue@yahoo.com, or call 912-373-5533 for more info or an application for Deacon.
