**Being fostered in the Pennington, NJ area**
Della was locked away in a local animal control and on the euthanasia list. Her thin, frail looking body kept her from getting pulled by the areas humane society because they thought she would require too much medical attention and time in order to be adopted. With just a day remaining before her scheduled execution, a local animal advocate located a foster and asked if we'd be the sponsoring rescue? Of course we agreed. 

A week after being rescued, we discovered that Della was actually pregnant but only after she delivered her litter of pups! As thin and malnourished as she was, it's amazing that Della and her pups all survived the pregnancy. 

Della eventually made it to our rescue and has been simply wonderful, getting along great with other dogs. She simply loves people and has never met a stranger in her life! Della will do better with older children as her level of play may accidently harm a small child. With her excellent personality, Della will make a great family companion.

Della has now regained her weight and health. She tested negative for heartworms on 7/21/20 and has been kept on her monthly preventatives. She's also been spayed, received an update on all of her yearly vaccinations and de-wormed. Della will most likely need house training.  Sorry, no cats.
