Dempsey and his six litter mates all came to SoCo Rescue as owner surrenders. It seems that a young man simply left his dog with his elderly grandmother. The young man ignored his grandmother's plea to get and secure the female dog which led to this dog getting pregnant and having her pups underneath their mobile home. To save the pups from possible danger, we had to take them away from their mom at an early age.

Dempsey is the "odd" pup of this litter, being the only white pup among them. He's probably the most playful of his litter and his siblings seem to have made Dempsey the leader of their little pack. When he first came to us, we thought Dempsey was blind but after being in a loving foster home, it just seemed he was just a little developmentally behind his littermate.  He is now all caught up & doing great.  Of course, it is something a professional vet should check out.

Dempsey has now received 2/3 of his first year "puppy" vaccines, rabies vaccination, been de-wormed and treated for parasites. We've also started him on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter must agree to having him neutered at 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue. He will need all of his basic training.
