***Dixie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the July 19-21 weekend.***

Dixie came to our rescue as an owner surrender. She had been found as a stray by a family, taken in and given care until the family decided it was best for Dixie to find her a new home. During her time with this family, Dixie shared the home with young children and other dogs, getting along great with both. 

Since coming to SoCo Rescue, Dixie has continued her friendly ways when interacting with our staff and other dogs.  She's playful, fun and very affectionate, making her a great candidate as a family companion. We're yet not sure how she will be with cats. While Dixie has a lot of energy she's not hyper and can be a very calm, relaxed dog at times.  Having some familiarity with Shepherds and the proper training techniques for the breed, combined with Dixie's intelligence, should make any needed training very easy to accomplish.

Dixie has now been fully vetted and recently tested negative for heartworms. We've also kept her up to date on her monthly preventatives. She may need additional house and leash training
