Description:
**Buddy is scheduled to attend our upcoming adoption event at Rosedale Mills, in Pennington, NJ, over the Jan 12-14 weekend.** Buddy must have felt as if his luck in in life had completely run out, especially on the day he was scrounging for food at a dumpster site and finding nothing suitable to eat. Thin, hungry and starting to feel a little sick from the garbage he was ingesting, Buddy had no idea that his luck was about to change. As luck would have it, a very compassionate man just happen to throwing his trash away when he noticed Buddy and decided to get this poor dog the help he needed. The man took Buddy to the Sandersville Animal Clinic and offered to pay for his care as long as they vet's office would work towards finding Buddy a safe place to go. Of course, the wonderful staff at Sandersville was more than happy to comply to the man's wishes and immediately began giving Buddy the love and care that he needed. When Buddy first arrived at the vet's office, he wasn't very well behaved when around other dogs. Maybe it was due to his having to fight for every morsel of food he could find or from meeting less friendly dogs, but Buddy simply didn't do well when in the company of other dogs. Since that time, he's gotten better but is still has a bit of that alpha dog personality so we'd suggest that he either be an only dog or much caution be used when introducing him to other dogs. Buddy is, however, VERY people friendly! He simply loves interacting with people and seems to come to life when getting petted and loved on. He also seems very smart, picking up on his routines and new things rather quickly. When we interacted with him, Buddy even exhibited a few traits that lead us to believe he's had some house training in his past (altho he'll most likely need a refersher course once in a new home). Buddy has now been neutered and had all of his vaccinations, wormings and other such typical vet care updated. He's also been started on his monthly preventatives and even recently tested negative for heart worms. Despite his time living as a homeless dog, Buddy seems to be in pretty good health. Buddy's path towards a better life began when he met the very kind man at the dumpster and could continue with the acquisition of his new home.
