**Muffy will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills, located in Pennington, NJ, over the Sept 29-Oct 1 weekend**

Muffy was among a nine dogs that were left alone at their former house after their owners moved away. When we arrived at the home, we found the nine dogs living in filthy conditions, terrified and covered in fleas. Muffy actually refused to let us catch her until we rescued her other friends and even led us outside to where we found a very old dog laying in tall grass and unable to stand on his own. Once all of the other dogs were safely inside our transport truck, Muffy then allowed us to also get her. She normally has a long coat of fur but because she was so matted and flea infested, we did have to groom most of her coat down very short.

Over the past couple of years, SoCo had helped this same family with their dogs, providing food and care for their dogs. Over that span, our pleas to take in Muffy and have her spay were rejected, leaving Muffy to have a couple of litters of pups. We were able to find homes for the ones that the former owners surrendered to us. While we hated to see Muffy and her friends living in such horrible conditions, it did allow us to finally rescue her. 

Muffy is very people and dog friendly. She also lived among cats at her former home and should do very well in a home with them. She loves the attention she receives from people and will give back more love than she receives. One sure way to capture her trust is to give her a belly rub, which she loves! Muffy was house trained at her former home but may need a refresher course once in a new home.

Muffy has now been spay, had all of her vaccinations renewed and started on her monthly flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. She also recently tested negative for heart worms
