**Connie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills, Pennington, NJ, over the July 7-9 weekend.**

During the after hours at SoCo Rescue, someone simply abandoned Connie and her companion, a Min Pin named Topper, at our rescue. While this person placed Topper within our fenced area, they left Connie in our parking lot area, placing her in danger of being struck by a vehicle or even running away. But Connie remained at the outside edge of the fence, laying next to her friend Topper. While she was scared and took a little coxing to come to us, Connie never exhibited any signs of aggression and has been simply wonderful during her time with us.

Connie may take a few days to become comfortable in new surroundings but warms up to new people rather nicely. She appears to be a true Chocolate Lab and was deemed very healthy by our vet. She also has shown signs of being house trained but may need a refresher course once in a new home. She’s dog friendly and isn’t hyper at all. She also appears to have house training qualities.

While we’d love to find Connie and Topper a new home where they can remain together, which we know will be hard to do, we think she’ll be ok if they are adopted separately. Her adopter just needs to understand that Connie’s entire world changed when her former owner decided to abandon them both at our rescue.
